Patients on long-term medication can order repeat prescriptions in the following ways:
- At Reception - please detach the right-hand side of your last prescription and clearly mark which medication you need. If you do not have this, then you can fill in a prescription request form from reception. You will need to provide your name, date of birth and address on the form along with the name(s) of the medication you need. Please be as specific as possible.
- By Post/Fax - write/fax your request to us along with your name, date of birth and address. If you require your prescription to be posted to you, please enclose a stamped addressed envelope.
- Online – You will need to be registered for online access to use this, click here for more information.
Telephone requests cannot be accepted unless you have mobility problems or are housebound.
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
Please allow three full working days for prescriptions to be processed, only order what you need and remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account.
- Only ask for what you need, don't tick it if you don't need it! There is no need to worry, the item will not disappear from your repeat prescription.
If you receive a repeat prescription you are no longer using, tell your GP.
Take any unwanted medicines back to the pharmacy for safe disposal – don't put them down the toilet or in the bin.
Don't stockpile medicines: they could go out of date or be taken by a child.
If your GP prescribed you too much tell them - sometimes you know how much you need best.
